Since their respective debuts, Patrick Rubinstein has cultivated a strong bond with the gallery.
His formative years were immersed in the rise of pop culture, drawing inspiration from the dynamism of British rock ‘n’ roll and the iconic imagery of American cinema.

Rubinstein channels the glamour of the ’50s in monochrome, the kaleidoscopic pop coloured universe of the ’60s, and the anarchic spirit of street art in the ’80s. His work navigates between Kinetic and Optical Art, offering viewers a world that exude a humoristic and positive atmosphere.

Patrick has invented the patented Dooble Principle that depict the fusion of two images designed to blend into one.

This newly merged image is applied on an accordion-folded medium. The application on this medium recreates, at 45° angle, the two original images that can be seen from both sides.
Several other images, revealed through interlacing of the two views, become visible as the spectator moves around the artwork.

Rubinstein’s collaboration with Galerie Montmartre has spanned a significant period, during which they have launched several of his now-iconic series, including the “Exception” and “Musée Imaginaire” collections. These works pay tribute to the Master of Modern and Contemporary art, rekindling our collective memory.
